About Us

Safety Heals. Community Empowers.

Circle of Wellbeing is a feminist, trauma-informed NGO based in Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley. We support Syrian refugee, and Lebanese and Palestinian women through community-led programs in mental health, self-care, and education. Our mission is simple: to create spaces where women feel safe, seen, and supported—regardless of background, status, or story.

Our Mission

To empower women through stress management, creative skill development, awareness sessions on women's health, and access to essential parenting resources for self-discovery and well-being.

Our Vision

To create a world where every woman is equipped to thrive, balancing personal growth, health, and parenting with confidence and creativity. We envision a future where women feel informed, supported, and empowered to lead healthier, more fulfilling lives.

A Message from Our Founder

Circle of Wellbeing was born from witnessing the deep and lasting effects of war, trauma, and displacement, especially on women and children who are so often overlooked in humanitarian efforts.

Through my work in Lebanon and the wider Middle East, I met countless women navigating unimaginable loss, trauma, and instability—yet still showing strength, care, and resilience in their daily lives. I saw children growing up in tents and conflict zones without access to safety, mental health support, or even basic human dignity. At the same time, I also witnessed how simple, human things—like a safe space to talk, breathe, move, or be seen—could bring comfort, strength, and healing. That is why I founded Circle of Wellbeing.

Not as a charity, but as a community. A place where healing is possible. A space built on solidarity, not saviourism, where women and children are not just passive recipients of aid—but leaders, creators, and voices at the heart of their own recovery.

From trauma-informed yoga in Oslo, to hygiene and water distributions and Women Center  in Lebanon, to the soon-to-come Women’s Center in Syria—our work is grounded in dignity, cultural sensitivity, and the belief that healing is a human right.

Circle of Wellbeing is more than an organization. It is a movement to restore connection—in our bodies, in our communities, and across borders. We are here to walk alongside those who have been displaced, silenced, or forgotten, and to remind them, and each other, that we all deserve peace—not just the absence of war, but the presence of care.

Thank you to every single person who has supported this mission—by donating, showing up, or sharing our impact.

With warmth and deep gratitude,

Thea Munkeby, Founder of Circle of Wellbeing

  • Support is never just material—it’s delivered with choice, respect, and humanity.

  • We build trust through open communication, ethical practices, and shared responsibility.

Who We Serve

At Circle of Wellbeing, our work centers women and children who have been pushed to the margins—by war, displacement, poverty, or patriarchal violence.

We primarily support:

  • Syrian refugee women and children navigating life in displacement and seeking safety, stability, and healing.

  • Lebanese and Palestinian women in under-resourced communities facing economic hardship, systemic neglect, and gender-based violence.

  • Survivors of war, domestic abuse, and trauma who deserve spaces of care, agency, and restoration.

Regardless of background, religion, ethnicity, or sexual orientation, every woman who enters our circle is welcomed with compassion, respect, and zero judgment. We believe that healing begins with belonging, and every woman deserves a place to feel seen, heard, and supported.
