About Us

Safety Heals. Community Empowers.

Circle of Wellbeing is a feminist, trauma-informed NGO based in Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley. We support Syrian refugee, and Lebanese and Palestinian women through community-led programs in mental health, self-care, and education. Our mission is simple: to create spaces where women feel safe, seen, and supported—regardless of background, status, or story.

Our Why

Founded in 2022 by Thea Munkeby, Circle of Wellbeing was born from a deep need: the lack of safe, healing spaces for women facing displacement, poverty, and trauma. What began as one center in Bekaa has grown into a movement for dignity, justice, and care—powered by women, for women.

“I started Circle of Wellbeing after witnessing how deeply women in Lebanon lacked access to support and space. Today, we’re building that space—together.”

— Thea Munkeby, Founder

Our Values

  • We create spaces where women reclaim voice, agency, and leadership—especially in times of crisis.

  • Every program is grounded in care, consent, and psychological safety.

  • We listen first. Our work is shaped by the real needs and lived experiences of the women we serve.

  • We see rest, joy, and creativity not as luxuries, but as radical tools for resilience and healing.

  • Support is never just material—it’s delivered with choice, respect, and humanity.

  • We build trust through open communication, ethical practices, and shared responsibility.

Who We Serve

At Circle of Wellbeing, our work centers women and children who have been pushed to the margins—by war, displacement, poverty, or patriarchal violence.

We primarily support:

  • Syrian refugee women and children navigating life in displacement and seeking safety, stability, and healing.

  • Lebanese and Palestinian women in under-resourced communities facing economic hardship, systemic neglect, and gender-based violence.

  • Survivors of war, domestic abuse, and trauma who deserve spaces of care, agency, and restoration.

Regardless of background, religion, ethnicity, or sexual orientation, every woman who enters our circle is welcomed with compassion, respect, and zero judgment. We believe that healing begins with belonging, and every woman deserves a place to feel seen, heard, and supported.

Our Impact

Every woman and child we support is part of a larger movement toward healing, empowerment, and dignity.
